Bilingualism – Links to Various Research Articles

by Irene

I have been reading many articles on bilingualism in the last month or so.  There is research in a variety of different areas:

  • the value (or not) of bilingualism
  • what bilingualism does (or doesn’t do) to the structure of the brain
  • the different kinds of bilingualism (simultaneous, early sequential, late sequential)
  • how babies / young children learn two languages at the same time
  • whether bilingualism slows down the progression of Alzheimer’s
  • whether bilingual brains have better attention and focus

Phew!  That is an abundance of topics!  Read all about these various aspects of bilingualism in the links below.
